This was followed by further awards such as best whisky: double gold 2008-2013 at the San Francisco World Spirit Competitions, ISC Trophy 2012, Trophy at the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2011, World Whisky Awards 2015 as best Japanese Single Malt Whisky and many more. The 18 years Yamazaki Japan Single Malt is a highly esteemed and award-winning whisky worldwide. It is mainly matured in sherry casks, which gives it deep, dark fruit flavours with sultanas, apricot, blackberry jam, chocolate and a distinct oak spice. The exquisite Mizunara note of the rare Japanese Mizunara oak is also present and wonderfully integrated. The finish is very complex, rich and extremely long.
