New Yarmouth 1994 Thompson Brothers 27 Year Old
Description
Located in the Clarendon parish of Jamaica, New Yarmouth is J. Wray & Nephew’s sister distillery to their globally renowned Appleton Estate. Although decidedly less prominent, it is far larger and also operates both pot and column stills, providing much of the rum for its parent company’s brands, including Edwin Charly, Coruba and Wray & Nephew Overproof. This rum was filled into a single refill barrel in November 1994. It was finally bottled in May 2022 at cask strength. The Thompson Brothers began their whisky bottling in enterprise in 2013, establishing the Black Isle Whisky Company in their native Dornoch. The brothers, Simon and Philip, renamed the operation as the Dornoch Distilling Company in 2015, opening the Dornoch distillery the following year. In addition to distilling their own whisky, their independent bottlings continue to flourish, with many exceptional tasting and fantastically labelled single malts and rums released under the Thompson Bros banner. One of 285 bottles.
