The Dalmore King Alexander III is the only whisky in the world to be painstakingly crafted from a blend of six cask finishes. Spirits aged in ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, Madeira barrels, Marsala casks, Port pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques are harmoniously blended to create a uniquely complex single malt. Rich aromas of fruit, blackberries, cherries, plums and raspberry. Reminiscent of a fruit liqueur. On the palate, all of the flavours in the aroma return with spices and autumnal notes, dried fruits, prunes, figs and even some nutty flavours. As you savour it, ever more flavours will reveal themselves. A long, fruity and truly rewarding finish. The Dalmore King Alexander III is named in honour of the legend of Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Mackenzie clan, who saved the King's life during a hunting expedition. For this, the Mackenzie clan was rewarded by being granted the twelve-pointed Royal Stag as their clan emblem, an emblem which proudly appears on every bottle of The Dalmore whisky to this day.
