Bowmore 33 Years Old Timeless 1988 is a remarkably fruity, rich and resplendent single malt. It first gently matured in ex-bourbon barrels, before being finished in Matusalem sherry-seasoned butts and second-fill ex-European Oloroso casks. On the nose, sweet layers of Acacia honey and jasmine floral aromas are complemented by herbal hints, toffee apple and nuts. A rousing, expressive chorus of menthol and eucalyptus is followed by ripe orchard fruits with peat smoke. The finish is long, rich and deeply satisfying.
