Arran 19 Years Old The Chosen One 1996 Cask #1390
Description
The Isle of Arran was once home to over fifty illicit whisky distilleries. When the only legal distillery closed in 1837, the island remained whiskyless for over 150 years. Harold Currie founded the Arran distillery in 1993, and the tradition of whisky distillation was finally brought back to the island. Arran Distillers recently opened a second distillery on the island—Lagg. To avoid confusion, the original Arran distillery has been renamed to Lochranza after the village in which it is located. Arran 19 Years Old The Chosen One By Whiskysite.nl 1996 Cask #1390 is a special single cask bottling, selected by Dutch retailer Whiskysite.nl. The whisky was distilled on 30 September 1996 and matured for over 19 years in sherry hogshead #1390. It was bottled on 2 February 2016 at 54.7%. The result is a sweet sherried dram characterized by notes of dark fruits, peach, apricot, caramel, milk chocolate and subtle spices. One of just 312 bottles.
