The whisky’s character is shaped by two fundamental ingredients: pure spring water from the nearby Ben Rinnes, and locally sourced barley grown within 15 miles of the distillery. The core range expression Aberlour 18 Years Old is unsurpassed in richness, structure and complexity. The single malt matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, and is bottled at 43%. It has a classic Aberlour profile with generous aromas of toffee, butterscotch, ripe peach and orange zest. Notes of soft apricot, cream, old leather, chocolate, oak and a touch of honey develop on the palate. The finish is very long and balanced, leaving hints of crème brûlée and gentle oak.
