Kurayoshi Distillery

The Kurayoshi Distillery, part of Matsui Shuzo in Japan's Tottori Prefecture, is a small, acclaimed producer of Japanese whisky known for using pure water from Mt. Daisen and aging spirits in unique casks like Mizunara (Japanese oak) and Sakura (cherry wood). While the parent company made sake/shochu since 1910, they started distilling their own whisky around 2017, creating sought-after expressions like The Kurayoshi Pure Malt, often noted for their smooth, flavorful profiles, though production remains limited.
