About Akashi Distillery
Akashi Distillery, part of the historic Eigashima Shuzo in Akashi City, Japan, is one of Japan's first and smallest whisky producers, holding the country's first whisky license from 1919. Known for its White Oak Distillery, it blends traditional sake-making expertise (its parent company is a major sake brewer) with Scottish whisky methods, producing smooth, approachable whiskies like Akashi Blend and single malts using unique small stills and local ingredients, maturing them in various casks for a distinct flavor profile.
